About Us
Inclusive Migration was founded by our principal lawyer, Cheng Yee Phuah who saw how many migrants were being excluded from accessing legal advice by the high hourly rates charged by most immigration law firms and wanted to break down these barriers to entry by providing inclusive migration services on a fixed fee basis.
Here at Inclusive Migration, we draw our expertise from highly experienced and intuitive legal practitioners who specialise in migration law and are up to date with the everchanging migration programmes. We are acutely aware of how life-changing a positive migration outcome can be for our clients, and we want to utilise our migration and legal expertise to advocate for you and change your life for the better. We understand how stressful and confusing immigration matters can be, and we have a continued focus on not only providing you with high quality legal services, but also supporting you by facilitating a comfortable and receptive migration experience.

Our Principal Lawyer
Cheng Yee Phuah has been practising immigration law in Australia since 2017, and has been lauded for her professionalism and attention to detail. She worked as Senior Associate at a specialist immigration law firm before founding Inclusive Migration to provide inclusive migration and legal services on a fixed fee basis. She has helped people from all backgrounds work towards their Australian dream and bring their family members to Australia, and guided registered migration agents in resolving complex immigration matters.
Cheng Yee has advocated for vulnerable persons such as Partner Visa applicants who have experienced family violence, and asylum seekers and refugees who are seeking protection in Australia. She understands the importance of attentiveness , compassion and empathy that goes into the holistic approach of these sensitive matters, and she works closely with persons of all gender identities and disabilities with ascertaining their immigration options in Australia.
Additionally, Cheng Yee has represented Visa Applicants who have been invited to comment on adverse information by the Department of Home Affairs, or considered for visa refusal and cancellation, as well as Australian citizens and Australian permanent residents who are barred from sponsoring their spouse or partner for a Partner Visa, with great success.
Cheng Yee has also helped numerous businesses sponsor overseas workers in Australia, manage their sponsorship compliance, and has advised them on the negotiation of industry labour agreements with the Australian Government for the employment of overseas religious workers and horticulture workers.
As a migrant from Singapore who moved to Australia on her own as an international student at the age of 16, and who also spent her childhood in the United States of America, Cheng Yee has a personal understanding of the challenges that international students and migrants face. After working with people from all walks of lives across almost a decade of work and volunteer experience in the migration and refugee space, she has developed a deep understanding of cultural nuances and appreciates the importance of adopting a sensitive approach when working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Cheng Yee is also passionate about social justice, equality and inclusion. She worked as a legal volunteer with Refugee Legal between October 2015 and January 2017, and later served as a volunteer tutor with the Sudanese Australia Integrated Learning (SAIL) Program between August 2016 and December 2020, which she continues to have fond memories of.
